Outsourcing in Clinical Trials Europe moves to Italy
After holding the OCT Europe conference in Barcelona, Spain for the last two years, this year the organizers chose Milano, Italy to be the venue for the 9th edition of the conference. From May 14th till 15th 500 experts gathered to discuss ever-pressing topics in outsourcing and clinical operations as well as technical innovation in clinical trials.
The speaker’s list was a well chosen mixture of pharma and biotech companies, as well as various service providers for clinical trials. This layout triggered vivid discussions between sponsors and vendors and provided new insights for everybody.
One benefit from switching the location definitely was the high amount of local representatives, who attended OCT for the first time. The compact exhibition with 81 exhibitors was well visited and the MLM was very content with the quality and quantity of people inquiring information about central lab services.
One minor complaint participants had was the coffee that was served during the breaks. It definitely did not meet the expectations one would have for an Italian coffee.
Therefore the coffee machine at the MLM booth was definitely a magnet for visitors and saved one or the other’s life in the morning or after lunch.
