Although the first welcome in Barcelona was quite chilly, after coming from 30°C Germany, the atmosphere at the 8^th Annual Outsourcing in Clinical Trials conference from May 15th- 16th was very warm and hearty. Over 530 attendees and 90 exhibitors experienced two intensive days of informative talks and networking.

In the opening plenary session Frank Verheggen, Clinical Programm Director at Astellas, stood up for the small CROs as he pointed out that in his opinion they are better positioned to drive innovation in the clinical development process than the big global players.

Getting tailwind like that, no wonder that the representatives from the small CROs, who visited the MLM booth were in a good mood and open for new collaboration.
