Stephan Wnendt retires from MLM

All good things have to come to an end and therefore Stephan Wnendt, former CEO of MLM Medical Labs, decides to step down from his professional career by the end of 2020.

Earlier this year he already started handing over his responsibilities to Stephan Voswinkel, Managing Director at MLM.

This is not only a big step for Stephan Wnendt personally, but also for MLM.

Stephan joined MLM in 2008, when 7 employees just started running lab services on their own – still sharing premises with the MVZ in Mönchengladbach, Germany. Without exaggerating it is obvious that there is a direct correlation between Stephan taking over responsibilities and MLM’s development from a rather small local lab to a global central and specialty lab for clinical trials with now 3 locations and over 150 employees worldwide.

Stephan’s entrepreneurship is unparalleled and he is always two steps ahead. In 2012 MLM moved to a new dedicated lab building and by then had all the certifications and registrations to be able to run clinical trial analytics according to EMA and FDA guidelines. In 2013 Stephan and his management team colleagues decided for a new distinctive branding which is well known in the industry today and underlines MLM’s service portfolio. Just like Stephan it is truly incomparable.

Development of MLM Safeguard Box^®, the formation of the MLM Kit Building^® services, implementation of the MLM Sample Storage System^®, US-partnership with Cenetron and the continuous growth of thecompany – to mention only some of the momentous milestones and developments in the past five years.
Finally, it is clear, that it is impossible to differentiate MLM’s success story and Stephan’s career. In the past 12 years he dedicated his life to MLM, always striving for innovation and scientific excellence. Stephan truly deserves to step back and enjoy his free time together with his wife Katja Neuer, who worked as Director Business Development and part of the management team at MLM until November 2020. These two are what one calls partners in crime for all situations in life.
